1. Evidence IDs

Evidence IDs identify the source behind quantitative, technical and application statements on this website. Each record states what the source demonstrates and provides context for interpreting that result.

2. Research findings are not CharOne performance guarantees

Third-party studies measure defined feedstocks, production methods, soils, climates, contaminants, application rates, treatment systems and operating conditions. A result reported in a study is evidence from that study; it is not a guarantee of performance for a CharOne project, product, site or customer application.

3. Averages and meta-analyses

Where a meta-analysis reports an average effect, CharOne presents it as an average across the included studies. The figure should not be read as a fixed performance level for every soil, crop, biochar, water stream, contaminant or operating system.

4. New Zealand field evidence

New Zealand trials and field studies are identified as local evidence. Their findings apply to the conditions, material and methodology reported by the source. Local evidence strengthens relevance but does not convert one field result into a universal New Zealand outcome.

5. Certification and standards

References to EBC, WBC, EBC-Feed, IBI or other standards describe external certification frameworks or source material. They do not mean that a CharOne feedstock, process or product holds a certification, approval or endorsement unless that status is expressly stated and independently verifiable.

6. Regulatory status

Technical evidence and regulatory approval are separate questions. A research result or overseas standard does not by itself establish legal approval for a New Zealand product or use. Applicable New Zealand requirements take precedence for any actual project or application.

7. Water and animal-feed applications

Water-treatment and animal-feed evidence is presented because credible published literature and recognised quality frameworks exist. The site does not represent that untreated biochar is suitable for every water stream, or that a biochar product is approved for animal-feed use in New Zealand. These applications require purpose-specific material, process, analytical and regulatory controls.

8. Carbon and environmental outcomes

Carbon, emissions, soil, nutrient and environmental outcomes depend on the full system boundary, including feedstock sourcing, production conditions, transport, product quality, end use and measurement method. References to climate or environmental evidence are not a carbon-credit, offset or emissions-reduction guarantee.

9. External source integrity

CharOne links to original sources where practical. External publishers control their own documents, URLs, revisions and availability. For decisions that depend on a source, use the latest authoritative version and obtain specialist advice where appropriate.
